- Eligibility Requirements
- Rebates are for eligible heat pump appliances installed on or after June 13, 2025, and are offered on a first-come, first-served basis when funding is available, for the pilot phase.
- Residential building with 5+ dwelling units.
- Installation address must be within South Coast AQMD jurisdiction. Use this South Coast AQMD link to verify your address. Search the map for your specific address using the gray magnifying icon in the upper right corner of the map.
- Applicant may be an owner, property manager, or installer.
- Each dwelling unit is eligible for one HVAC heat pump and one water heating heat pump, only.
- Heat pumps replacing gas or propane furnaces or gas water heaters must be Energy Star certified. This requirement may be modified during the pilot phase if the Energy Star program ends.
- Applicant may elect for the rebate to be paid to the installer by signing the relevant section of the Rebate Application, which is submitted after the installation is complete.
- Multifamily RESERVATION Requirements
- Multifamily Rebate Reservations must be submitted online using the form below.
- Proof of incremental progress (e.g. “Progress Reports”) must be provided to Willdan every thirty (30) calendar days to continue to reserve your funding. Examples include, but are not limited to material purchase invoices, building permit information, Installer timelines, etc. Proof must be uploaded to the online portal at www.GOZEROMultifamily.com/progress-reports. Reserved funding will return to the pool after 60 calendar days if there is no progress demonstrated. Failure to provide adequate Progress Reports may, at the discretion of the Willdan, result in the loss of the rebate reservation position.
- Once installation is complete, the separate Rebate Application must be submitted to Willdan for review and approval. Please see the Required Documents section for a list of documents that will be required to complete the Rebate Application.
- Any changes to the scope of the project, such as decreasing the number of units installed, may lower the final rebate amount.
- Final rebates and any other leveraged rebates cannot exceed total upgrade costs, including materials and labor. Any disputes regarding installation and related costs are to be resolved between the Applicant and their installer.
- Eligible Equipment and Rebates
- Use the applicable Rebate Code to complete the Appliance Table below. Multiple space heating/cooling units servicing one dwelling unit are counted as one heat pump for rebate purposes. The total rebate will be capped at $300,000 per property during the GO ZERO Pilot Phase. If multiple applications are submitted for the same property during the Go Zero Pilot Phase, the cap will be based on the cumulative total.
